Hey everyone and welcome back to The Selfish Column. I would say happy spring but if you live in Calgary you know there is no spring in sight. But luckily I was able to experience some sun during my Cabo vacation.
Last month I and a group of some amazing women went to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate my girl’s bachelorette and let me tell you, things went a bit wild- – – But I have to say it’s a girl’s trip dream come true.
What I’m most proud of when it comes to my outfits are how affordable they were. As you all know, The selfish Column is always here to save you a buck or two and that will NEVER change. I hope you enjoyed my first ever lookbook because I enjoyed creating this and can’t wait to see how all of you respond to it.
Now let’s get to business, THE FASHION. These looks were just a snippet of what I wore on the trip and hopefully, it inspires you on your next vacation.
Most of my items are from Forever 21 Canada; yes I am an adult and I still shop there, and no I am not ashamed of it. (Plus these pieces are freaking cuteeeeeeee.)
As always thank you for stopping by The Selfish Column… until next time selfish readers.
Hello everyone and welcome back to The Selfish Column. I really hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent the weekend working on future blog posts and organizing my school life.
This week I am coming to you guys with a new look that I absolutely love! This outfit is giving me a sexy Morticia Addams vibe, and I’m here for ALL IT— Bring on the dark side. I can wear this look to so many events without the feeling of outfit repeat hanging over me. The different pieces make for an easy style change with things you already have in your closet. This is something you can wear to a business event or a night out with the girls (of course the button have to be up for work events). I want you guys think business in the front and party in the back analogy, only this time the party is taking a front row seat with this eye catching bralette.
Let me know how you would incorporate these three pieces into your wardrobe.
As always the details are listed below. Like, share, and comment if you love this post.
Hi everyone and welcome back to The Selfish Column. Hope everyone had great weekend doing whatever it is they love. Mine was pretty standard for the most part. I did a little bit of shopping, editing and went to one of my girlfriend’s birthday dinner. All and all it was a delightful weekend.
The outfit seen a above was quite simple to put together. As many of you all know by now I am the queen of lazy looks. I love to put pieces together that don’t need much to standout. When I first purchased this white dress I was a little hesitant because I wasn’t sure where I can wear it. After bringing it home I started to play around with the belt hook on the dress and quickly learned it can be worn in many ways. For example if you want to have a more conservative look, all you had to do is tighten the belt hook. If a sexier look is what you’re going for just loosen the belt hook and maybe go bra less if you are brave enough. Just tape those bad boys down to avoid some unwanted attention… (if you know what I mean). Another great way to wear this piece is abandoning the the dress idea and use it as a sleeveless vest. Hope you liked these tips, and enjoyed my look today. On Wednesday I will be writing about fun life hacks, hope to see you all back here.
Hi there my selfish readers, hope you all had an amazing weekend. My weekend consisted of wine, girl talk, and work. The look above I put together with the idea of a simple date night on the mind. The floral patterns on the blazer pieced the look together without overshadowing the lace pattern on the dress. Speaking of the of this LBD, I had this in my closets for months but never got around to wearing it. Let me know your thoughts on it and how you would style it if it was your dress. Thanks for stopping by!
(This is actually a necklace that I wrapped as a hand chain)
It’s the weekend, and were talking about casual fashion looks today on the blog. This current look was inspired by Californian men style. I stepped out of my comfort zone and accessorized more than usual without losing the concept. Think boyfriend clothes meets date night. Hope you all enjoy this look as much as I did.:)
As always, the details for my look is provided below (after the pictures). You would be surprise how easily accesibles these pieces were for purchase. Enjoy Loves 🙂
Shirt- H&M Women:
This button up shirt has become a staple piece in my closet this summer. What I love the most about it is that I am able to mix it and match it with different pant bottoms as well as skirts and shorts.
Boyfriend Jeans- Garage:
These Jeans are very comfy and currently trending. Prior to the summer season I went on a hunt for the perfect boyfriend jeans, only to be shit out of luck. Luckily for me I found these and purchased them in two different denim washes. I would recommend going a size bigger to give it that loose fitted style.
Heels: Call it Spring:
These are a 3 inch wedge heel that give a twist to the normal booties. The cut out on it allows you to bring the look right into fall, and might I add they are comfy as hell. I wore them for 6 hours straight with no issues this past week.
What can I say, I caved in to the choker trend. I honestly am quite content with this choker. Just the other day I was able to come up with four different ways to wear this accessory.
Details Below about where I purchased this outfit.
I can’t express how much I love these Jeans. This is the second time I paired these jeans for an outfit look on this blog. This Turtle Neck top is legit EVERYTHING, I live in a city where I can wear this in the summer without sweating to death (some days). I can wait for fall weather to see what I can do with this top. 🙂
Hope you all have a great week.. Let me know how the new site looks and your thoughts on this post. As always see you all next time.
This morning I woke up feeling fresh, relaxed and well rested. I will be honest, I was going to wait until my vacation ended to post something new on the blog. But today I had such a positive energy that couldn’t be put to waste. So without any holding back I poured myself a cup of tea, put my cleansing face mask on and got my pictures together.
The look that I put together I felt is perfect for date nights with your girls or that special someone. I believe this look is simple enough and current enough that any girl from any background and size can pull off. (Not to mention it is SIMPLE). The best part about these pieces are you can mix and match them with other stuff in your closet. And yes I am one those people that still wears my leather jacket in the summer time. The jacket was last seasons look from the Gap, but the rest of the outfit is current.
As always thank you for stopping by and see you all next week. Enjoy the pictures…. Details below.
As many of you all know by now following my blog I don’t wear much jewelry. I mean I put the occasional rings here and there to give a little pop to my outfits, but aside from that I tend to be very minimalistic— (is that even a word) when I accessorize.
I legit struggle between doing my makeup or hair each and every morning, and usually opt-out on makeup and brush my hair. Truthfully I never got into the contouring phase that was in the makeup scene. I seriously couldn’t be bothered with that, taking 45 minutes to do makeup was never on my life plan. Matter of fact getting dressed like an adult wasn’t part of it either, but we must choose our battles as we age (lol). Aside from all that I manage to put some simple looks together that can go from day to night during the weekend. I paired the three looks with heels, or wedge heels, but you can totally wear them with flats shoes. All the looks are on a BUDGET too (Now you all know BUDGET is my FAV current word when it comes to shopping).
Hope you enjoy the looks. Leave a comment and let me know which one was your favorite. If you have any ideas on how the looks could have been done differently let me know.
As always thank you for stopping by and see you all next week.
I put this outfit together for all the summer loving on the go weekenders. As many of us know weekends can sometime be just as hectic as the weekdays. With all the personal errands and functions we attend I find that comfort and flexibility is much needed when the sun is out. This whole outfit is perfect for a girl like me that has coffee to grab and shopping to be done before 2 PM. Lets be honest not all of us can wear heels and complete all their errands. (I’m not a superwoman yet). 😦 But as you can see in the next pictures, I was able to take this outfit from a day look to an afternoon, summer evening look without even changing much.
After all of the running around is complete, you might want to put a simple grown up outfit together for some drinks at the patio. Sometime we are not able to change our clothes or do not have the time do so. But with a simple shoe and purse switch up,you can take your look from simple one to a cute evening/night summer look. I played with the shirt in some of the pictures to make the shorts more noticeable.
Thanks so much of stopping by everyone——->>>> hope you like the rest of the pics; details below.
Have a great week 🙂 .
Top: H&M-Love this top cause it’s so breezy,
Shorts: H&M- Literally the most comfortable shorts ever- and wedgie free too LOL,
White Tote Bag: Kate Spade- This is my go to designer.. You can never go wrong with a nice leather tote bag. How else can you sneak in food inside the movie theaters?,
Blue Clutch: Aldo- I got this clutch on sale hoping it would come to good use one day…and look at GOD coming through,
Brown Sandal Heels: “Call it Spring”- These are so damn comfy and just perfect. The only advice I can give is to buy them a half size smaller cause they run a little big,
Adidas: Journeys- Like how can you go wrong with a classic shoe such as this. I can’t take all the credit though, I got this as a gift after mentioning them. 🙂
For this series I decided to showcase a little bit of myself in regards to my fashion sense. Truth be told this was a last minute outfit decision. One of my girl friends wanted to have a girls’ night out on Monday, which a I was totally down for because it was a place we both been meaning to try out. Due to the fact that I haven’t been there before, I didn’t want to over dress or under dress.
I go through phases with my clothes—- it really depends on my mood. I don’t want to be predictable, because there is no fun in that. I also find that being a student that’s budgeting for classes as well as my lifestyle, I need to be able to have pieces that I can mix and match with the current stuff in my closet. Trust me if it’s cute enough you will want to where it again. Like the saying goes “don’t go broke trying to keep up with others”.
Personally, I don’t believe in having favorites anything. Because what ends up happening with that, people tend to overload you with that certain item when it comes to gift giving (unless its cheesecake ,then I’m totally cool with all of it).But aside from this look the food was great and the company was better.
Hope you enjoy the look and thank you for visiting—–details below.
